UJA@PAS promotes cooperation and collaboration between the synagogue, UJA-Federation of New York, and its many beneficiary agencies. Through mitzvah projects, speakers and other special events, our goal is to promote a synagogue culture that encourages gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness).
We are proud to collaborate with UJA and provide social service, communal engagement, and mitzvah project opportunities to our community.

The Great Jewish American Novel
What, and Who, is a Jewish Writer?
Tue / Sep 13 / 7:00 pm / 87th Street and Online
Joshua Cohen, Nicole Krauss and Rabbi Koffman
For many decades, American Jewish authors have tried to untangle their two identities, reckoning with both Jewishness and Americanness in their writing. Joshua Cohen and Nicole Krauss, two prominent younger novelists who have emphasized Jewish themes in their books, will discuss how these identities influence who they are as authors and how they approach their portrayals of Jewish life through these lenses.
This program is presented in partnership with NYJewish Week and UJA-Federation of New York.
UJA RESOURCES
CENTER FOR YOUTH PHILANTHROPY AND LEADERSHIP: TEEN PROGRAMS
Middle school and high school students can volunteer at UJA agencies throughout the city for community service hours. Volunteer opportunities can be one-time or ongoing depending on interests and school requirements. For an intensive and ongoing experience, students in grades 9–12 can apply to be part of the Philanthropic Advisory Council for Teens (PACT), an opportunity to meet Jewish teens from all over New York and to take a deeper look at the process of fundraising and allocation through a Jewish lens.
