Kol Nidrei Address by Chairman of the Board Marc Becker
Shanah tovah!
At a festive Kabbalat Shabbat service on Friday, May 20, Park Avenue Synagogue dedicated a new siddur which will serve the needs of the coming generation of the congregation. Five years in the making and published by the Rabbinical Assembly, Siddur Lev Shalem preserves classical Jewish values and liturgical vocabulary yet facilitates a contemporary encounter with the divine.
The siddur is both more traditional and more modern than our previous siddur, in use at PAS since 1986. On the traditional side, it includes ancient piyyutim, liturgical poems. At the same time, like the High Holiday prayer book Mahzor Lev Shalem introduced last year, the siddur features new translations, commentaries, and transliterations.
Celebrate a simcha or honor the memory of a loved one by dedicating one or more copies of Siddur Lev Shalem. Click here to learn how to have your donation acknowledged with a bookplate. In the dropdown menu, select "Shabbat Prayer Book (Lev Shalem)."
