Mint, Markets, Mountains, Mellahs . . . Morocco!
In October 2020, Travel with PAS will venture to the African continent for the first time.
Shabbat Shalom from Moscow!
The PAS trip to Russia arrived in St. Petersburg earlier this week to begin a journey weaving together impressive tourist sites with inspiring interaction with local Jewish communities. We have been learning the history of Jews in Russia, meeting present-day Jewish communities, and glimpsing their future.
Being in Russia 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War, we have reflected on the Soviet Jewry Movement and how that struggle informed our own Jewish identities. Meeting with an open, creative, and proud Russian Jewish community today is nothing short of miraculous! We encourage you to follow our trip on the PAS Facebook page.
Thanks to our trip co-chairs – Alison Abovsky, Judy Goodman, and Alan Levine – for their leadership and all they have done to make this trip a success.
While all PAS travel builds community among the travelers, this experience has also enabled us to celebrate Jewish peoplehood in places where many of our trip participants and other synagogue members have roots. We look forward to sharing our reflections on this trip after we return.
