Community Shabbat Dinner with Dan Senor
Fri / Mar 8 / 7:30 pm / 87th St / Dan Senor and Rabbi Zuckerman
Dan Senor, co-author of the international best-seller Start-Up Nation and the new book The Genius of Israel, will share insights into why Israel, despite having to continually fight for its security and very existence since its founding, has proven resistant to the societal struggles that many other democracies face, experiencing high life expectancy, a growing and youthful population, and a cohesive social structure. Senor will shine a light on the innovative distinctions of Israeli society—and what other communities and countries can learn.
Dan Senor is coauthor with Paul Singer of the bestseller Start-Up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, and their newest book, The Genius of Israel: The Surprising Resilience of a Divided Nation in a Turbulent World. A former Defense Department official, Senor has been based in Baghdad and at US Central Command in Qatar, and was a US Senate aide in the 1990s. He was also senior advisor to Paul Ryan’s 2012 campaign for vice president and foreign policy advisor to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns. He has written for The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA TODAY, and The Washington Post, and is the host of the Call Me Back podcast.
