Celebrate the uplifting and joyous holiday of Simhat Torah, where the Torah is the focal point and dancing is encouraged for all.

Join our congregation as we celebrate the contributions of our members, Stacie Schapiro and Peter Bernstein, on Sunday, October 4 at 9:45 am.

Simhat Torah Honorees

Every year, our congregation celebrates the contributions of cherished members for their dedication and commitment to the community.

Stacie Schapiro

For Stacie Schapiro, “there’s nothing more important than raising a Jewish family, Israel, and having a community. Peter Bernstein

Peter Bernstein grew up at Park Avenue Synagogue and has “lived and breathed the organization as a second home since 1985.” His family joined the congregation following a move from the West Side to the East Side of Manhattan when he was four years old, at which point he began attending Thursday morning minyan with his dad. He attended Congregational School and had his Bar Mitzvah at the synagogue. He and his now-wife, Jennifer, held their aufruf at the synagogue, and in December, his eldest son, Ben, celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at PAS.
