Memorial Giving

In addition to lighting a yahrzeit candle and saying Kaddish, many people make a donation to honor the anniversary of a loved one’s death. You can make a yahrzeit donation to any fund you wish. To make a Yahrzeit donation, please contact the Development Office. 

Each year’s Book of Remembrance lists the names of departed loved ones whose memories PAS members wish to honor in this service supplement that is used at all Yizkor services for that year – on Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, the eighth day of Pesach, and the second day of Shavuot. If you are interested in including the name of a loved one in next year’s book, please contact the Development Office. 

A dedicated stained-glass window panel in our Sanctuary is a permanent way to honor the memory of a loved one. For further information, please contact the Development Office.

When you decide to make a planned gift to Park Avenue Synagogue and join the L’dor Vador Circle, you are ensuring that we will continue to pray, educate, celebrate, comfort, and do mitzvot together for generations.

There are many ways to make a planned gift. You can include Park Avenue Synagogue in your will, make the synagogue a beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy, or create a charitable trust that names Park Avenue Synagogue as a beneficiary. Often, these gifts cost you nothing today and help you make a tax-wise investment for your future.
