The Sunday Civics program will help our students understand what it means to be a Jewish American; how to think about current events and issues in America through a Jewish lens. We will also have an opportunity to get to know other organizations that are addressing these issues and consider how different opportunities to volunteer may make a positive impact on our community.

About the Seminar

The Sunday Civics Seminar Seminar will take place during the 2025-26 school year. This hands on, interactive seminar will explore the intersections between our Jewish lives and our lives as citizens of our country.

Content

This hands on, interactive seminar will explore the intersections between our Jewish lives and our lives as citizens of our country.

The seminar will be led by Rabbi Aiden Pink and Ariel Glueck and will include sessions led by other PAS rabbis as well as notable guest speakers.

The seminar will focus on the following questions and topics:

  • What does it mean to be a Jew living in the United States today?
  • What does Judaism have to say about civic engagement and what does our country say about being religiously affiliated?
  • Are we Jewish Americans or American Jews?
  • What are our obligations to our community? Civic? Jewish?

If you have questions, feel free to contact Ariel Glueck.
