On February 1, PAS traveled to Vilna, known as “the Jerusalem of Lithuania.” The enchanted city was once European Jewry’s intellectual, spiritual, and political capital. Our journey focused on the city;s dynamic, painful, and rich history; the enduring legacy of the Vilna Gaon; and the sometimes-contentious contemporary rebirth taking place within the local Jewish community and the city now called Vilnius.
