This past year, we have celebrated Israel at 70. From the 2018 Shabbaton to the Congregational Trip to Israel in December and many things in between, we explored our relationships with Israel, digging deep for an understanding of the complex yet loving, sacred yet everyday connection we have with the modern Jewish state.
Approaching Israel at 71, we will continue our engagement with a virtual celebration of Yom HaAtzma’ut. Through videos and photo retrospectives over the coming weeks, we will look at our relationships with Israel through multiple lenses.
We begin our celebration with a video of Sheheheyanu, sung by the participants of the Congregational Trip to Israel together with Cantors Azi Schwartz and Rachel Brook during Kabbalat Shabbat in Jerusalem last December. As the words of Sheheheyanu proclaim: Thank you, God, for bringing us to this season.
