In collaboration with CaringKind, PAS offers a 10-week psychoeducational support group series called "Partnering Together" for members caregiving for a family member with dementia or memory loss. This is appropriate for those caregiving for a family member who is experiencing mild cognitive impairment or various types of dementia, including Alzheimer's, Lewy body, vascular, frontotemporal, or mixed dementias. Each of the 10 unique sessions focus on providing foundational knowledge about disease progression, adapting to changing relationships, coping with grief and loss, engaging a broader support system, grappling with legal and financial considerations, and the role of spirituality.
PAS also offers monthly, traditional support groups for members who are care partners for a loved one with memory loss or dementia. Participation in our “Partnering Together” 10-week psychoeducational group series is a prerequisite for joining one of our monthly support groups. For more information about any of these groups, contact our social worker, Suzanne Redlich, at [email protected] or 212-369-2600 x105.
