How can Hebrew poetry and Israeli culture serve as a bulwark and resource in times of grief and loss? Zierler’s memoir, Going Out with Knots: My Two Kaddish Years with Hebrew Poetry, shares the story of the death of both her parents in one year, her personal mourning journey, and how she turned to modern Hebrew poetry as a way to process grief, faith, and ritual participation.
