Take a deep dive into the most pressing issues in Israel. Featuring a new current-events topic every week, each class provides a rich cultural and historical perspective with a focus on the historical background of the issue, the cultural translation of Israeli perspectives around it, and a discussion of possible outcomes and ramifications.

About Dagan Shimoni

Dagan Shimon is an experienced Israeli educator and community leader with over 20 years in both formal and informal education. Most recently as the head the Educators Department at Pardes, where he developed and facilitated programs focused on values-based and political education in Israeli society. Before that as a youth counselor, head of community education systems and group facilitator. Raised and living in Kibbutz Maabarot, he brings a deep commitment to community life, cross-cultural dialogue, and fostering meaningful connections between Israel and Jewish communities abroad. He has led youth delegations to the U.S., worked with Seeds of Peace, and holds an M.A. in Asian Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Passionate about education, empathy, and shared values, he aims to present a complex and authentic portrait of Israeli society.
