Trace the development of diverse American Jewish cultures in the 20th century, exploring both the Americanness and the Jewishness of American Jewish culture, and ultimately, the symbiotic interrelation of the two. Examining facets such as activism, women’s rights, counterculture, pop culture, and more, we’ll discuss how the American Jewish experience produced a series of historically distinctive cultures and subcultures, and how they have conditioned our present circumstances.
