Through community service, social justice, and other volunteerism, Tikkun Olam at PAS seeks to help our community in NYC, our country, Israel, and other places where there is need for our support. Our initiatives to “repair the world” include ongoing regular projects, seasonal work based on a theme, and projects to support a need or event.

Tikkun Olam Monthly Mitzvah Challenge
Make a positive impact in our community and beyond through our monthly mitzvah challenge. Each month, we will announce the PAS monthly challenge to engage in one act of Tikkun Olam. We will provide resources and suggestions for ways to fulfill this challenge and will encourage you to share your experiences, reflections and photos with us on social media. As a PAS community, we look forward to fostering our bonds and fulfilling our responsibility to repair the world (Tikkun Olam) in meaningful ways. We invite you to join us in this journey toward making the world a better place.
Fighting the Good Fight: Combating Antisemitism

There are plenty of ways to take part in the PAS Tikkun Olam Committee's monthly mitzvah challenge, which encourages congregants to do acts of kindness and make a positive impact in the community, driven by relatable monthly themes that are planned for the year ahead! As we look to January, we encourage you to participate in small mitzvahs that will have a big and lasting impact Whether through the opportunities below or your own ideas!
Kick off 2025 by participating in the PAS Tikkun Olam Committee's monthly mitzvah challenge. This month, we will learn to identify, stand up to, and combat antisemitism with the resources below. Please join us.

Stand Up to Hatred: A division of StandwithUs, the Center for Combating Antisemitism will show you how to play an active role in fighting antisemitism.

Attend the PAS Shabbaton "And You Shall Teach Your Children," focused on the climate on American college campuses, which for over a year have been the scene of intense and polarizing protests that have fomented a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents.
