Transition at PAS: Update on Worship Services and Community Kiddush

On April 20, PAS staff offices will move to our temporary space at 4 E. 90th Street, and by the end of May, all schools and programs will have moved to the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center or to 90th Street.

Daily minyan moved to the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center on Tuesday, April 17. Morning and evening minyan will continue to provide spiritual fulfillment, daily worship, and community in our light-filled chapel on the second floor.

As we move to different locations, Shabbat at PAS will continue to be a weekly haven of worship, learning, music, and friendship. Here’s where we’ll be for Shabbat worship and Kiddush this month, over the summer, and in the fall.

Shabbat at PAS, May 5 to June 16
Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday evenings at 6:15 pm will take place in the Sanctuary at 87th Street.
• On Saturday mornings, the 7:30 am Hashkamah Minyan and 9:00 am Shaharit and Parashat HaShavua will meet at the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center.
Shabbat morning services at 9:45 am will remain in the Sanctuary.
Shabbat Minha will take place in the Sanctuary immediately after morning services.
The Community Kiddush will take place in the gym space on the ground floor of 90th Street through June 16. Kiddush is an opportunity for congregants to come together informally and as such helps to build community. We hope that with the advent of warm weather, all will welcome the stroll to 90th Street as a further opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Every week there will be volunteers to accompany congregants requiring assistance on the walk over. Email Rachel Zorbaron to volunteer. In addition, a small “Kiddush-to-Go” will be provided for congregants who are physically unable to make their way to 90th Street. Sign up for “Kiddush-to-Go.”

Shabbat at PAS over the summer, June 22–September 1
Kabbalat Shabbat will take place at 90th Street.
Shabbat morning services will move offsite to soon-to-be-announced Upper East Side location Meanwhile, the Sanctuary will be prepared for worship in the fall. Bathrooms will be constructed so that the Sanctuary remains a comfortable place to celebrate Shabbat and holidays.
Shabbat Minha and a light Kiddush will be in the same location as Shabbat morning services.

Beginning September 8, Shabbat at PAS will return to the Sanctuary at 87th Street and the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center, with the Community Kiddush at 90th Street.
