Shavuot 5777 at PAS

According to the Midrash, when Moses returned from Mount Sinai bringing the second set of stone tablets, the Children of Israel were asleep and had to be awakened to receive the Torah. It has become a tradition to study on the night of Shavuot to demonstrate that we are awake and ready to receive the Torah.

Before our study session, we will congratulate Rabbi Bryan Wexler on his ordination, thank him for his service as our rabbinical intern, and wish him well as he moves on to become Assistant Rabbi at Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill, NJ.
