Peter A. Geffen is an educator and social activist, and he is president and founder of the KIVUNIM Institute, an organization that fosters Jewish education by forging a lifelong relationship with Israel and the Jewish people through travel across the world. In 1983, Geffen founded the Abraham Joshua Heschel School. He began his career as a Jewish educator at PAS, starting the Park Avenue Synagogue High School (now the Judah Nadich High School). In the summers of 1965 and 1966 he served as a civil rights worker for Dr. Martin Luther King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
