Women's Network

The Women’s Network builds community and camaraderie through social, intellectual and spiritual activities. Our programs offer something for women of all ages and stages – speakers, cooking classes, tikkun olam projects, parties, and more - some during the day and some in the evening to accommodate the different schedules of our members. Launched in 2012, the Women’s Network is a successor to previous women’s groups, including Sisterhood and the Women’s Evening Group, and brings together all PAS women under a single umbrella.

These were some of our previous events:

• A talk by PAS Member and beauty expert Andrea Pomerantz Lustig, who shared her tips and secrets wtih over 150 women
• Challah baking classes taught by congregants, each with a different recipe, including gluten-free
• Recurring classes to demystify prayer and services and to help women feel comfortable participating: “A Women’s Guide to Tefillah” and “Find Your Key.”
• A private tour of the exhibit “The First Jewish Americans” at the New York Historical Society
• A Pre-Passover Pottery Painting Party where we created Seder Plates and Miriam’s Cups to use at our own seders.

Every woman member of PAS is invited to join Women's Network. Members pay annual dues of $54.00 to support programming. New members of PAS (within 6 months of joining the synagogue) pay no dues for their first year of Women's Network membership.

Our logo is deeply rooted in the heritage of PAS. It is based on one of the pictographs in the stained glass windows that line the synagogue lobby and the Appleman Chapel. The windows were designed by the abstract expressionist artist Adolph Gottlieb, who used the motif of spokes with knobs on the end to represent lamps and light. The symbol suggests the sparks of connection and the warmth of community which the Women’s Network offers to every woman in the congregation.
