Transition at PAS: Returning to 87th Street

We are excited to let you know that after nearly a year and a half in our temporary home, we will be moving into the revitalized 87th Street building in early September in time for the first day of the PAS Early Childhood Center and High Holiday services. We are thrilled to welcome the community to our permanent home. For the next several months, we will still be in a transition period as we become familiar with our new spaces. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility over the next few months.

As we begin moving back, we want to share information about the move:
• Clergy, Congregational Education, Adult Learning, Youth Engagement, the PASECC, the Music Center, and all Administrative Offices will be moving back to 87th Street beginning on Wednesday, August 28. We expect offices to open at 87th Street after Labor Day.
• The Congregational School and Young Family Education remain at the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center, 11 E. 89th Street. Reception at this location will be open all week, while our temporary location is closed and our permanent location at 87th Street is not yet open.
• The PAS Library is closed and will reopen at 87th Street later in the fall.
• All staff phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.

Location of some worship services will also change in the next month:
Morning and evening minyan will continue to meet at the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center through the fall.
• Beginning September 6 and 7, Shabbat services will move back to the Sanctuary and livestreaming will resume.
• Beginning September 7 and until further notice, Shabbat minha will take place in the Sanctuary immediately following Shabbat morning services.
• Beginning September 7 and until further notice, the Community Kiddush will take place in Darlington Hall at 2 E. 90th. For an accessible entrance, enter via the Church of the Heavenly Rest on Fifth Avenue on the corner of 90th Street.

The transition webpage is an up-to-date resource for all matters related to the transition, and the PAS website calendar provides information about the locations of services, programs, and classes.

We look forward to welcoming you home to 87th Street this fall and can’t wait to show you around!
