Transition at PAS: May Update on Worship Services and Community Kiddush

Dear PAS Community,

Last night, we celebrated the PAS community at the Gala, the final event in the Lower Level before the transformation of 87th Street. What a wonderful evening! We hope you enjoy this video from last night. If you ventured to the upper floors of the building, you may have noticed the hallways echoing. Except for the PASECC on the 5th and 6th floors and the Sanctuary, the building has been emptied of furniture and supplies and is ready for the start of construction.

As we begin this phase of the transition, we want to share several reminders and updates:

        • Administration, Adult Education, Clergy, and Music Center staff offices have moved to 4 E. 90th Street. YFE, Youth/Teens, and Congregational School offices are now located in the Eli M. Black Lifelong Learning Center at 11 E. 89th Street.  We invite you to stop by and visit! PAS email addresses and phone numbers have not changed, and our mailing address remains at 50 E. 87th Street. Packages should be sent to 11 E. 89th Street.
          • Beginning this Saturday, May 5, after Seminary Shabbat with JTS Chancellor Arnold Eisen,  the Community Kiddush will take place in the gym on the ground floor of 90th Street. There will be volunteers to accompany congregants requiring assistance on the walk over. Find them in the back of the Sanctuary with a yellow sign. Email Rachel Zorbaron to volunteer. In addition, a small “Kiddush-to-Go” will be provided for congregants who are physically unable to make their way to 90th Street. Sign up for “Kiddush-to-Go” here.
          • From June 22 through September 1, Kabbalat Shabbat services will take place in the gym at 90th Street, and Shabbat morning services will be held at the Ramaz School at 60 East 78th St. Over the summer, the Sanctuary will be prepared for worship in the fall. Bathrooms and a coatroom will be constructed so that the Sanctuary remains a comfortable place to celebrate Shabbat and holidays.
