UJA@PAS

The UJA@PAS Committee promotes cooperation and collaboration between the synagogue, UJA-Federation of New York and its many beneficiary agencies. Through mitzvah projects, speakers and other special events, our goal is to promote a synagogue culture that encourages gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness).

J-1-1 UJA-Federation of New York’s Information and Referral Center
J-1-1 is UJA’s telephone and web-based information and referral center. The mission of J-1-1 is to connect members of the community with available programs, services, and resources that meet their needs. Referrals may include financial and employment resources, services for older adults, mental health, substance abuse, special needs, and Jewish cultural opportunities – all available through UJA’s network of non-profit partners.
To access assistance, email j11@ujafedny.org or call 1-877-852-6951 to speak with a specialist.

Center for Youth Philanthropy and Leadership: Teen Programs
Middle school and high school students can volunteer at UJA-Federation agencies throughout the city for community service hours. Volunteer opportunities can be one-time or ongoing depending on the person’s interests and school requirements. For an intensive and ongoing experience, students in grades 9–12 can apply to be part of the Philanthropic Advisory Council for Teens (PACT), an opportunity to meet Jewish teens from all over New York and to take a deeper look at the process of fundraising and allocation through a Jewish lens.
