PAS Master Class: Navigating Conflicts in Traditional Jewish Cultures
Tuesdays | January 10, February 7 | 7:00-8:30 pm
Dr. Benjamin Gampel

Jews in traditional societies and cultures were compelled to navigate conflicts with their Christian and Muslim overlords, as well as negotiate tensions within the Jewish community. In this four part series, we will turn our attention to how Jews responded to the daily challenge of living as a Jew through an investigation into clashes over holy sites, disputes over ritual behavior, contention over religious and political responses to the surrounding society, and arguments over the creation and maintenance of communal boundaries.
