What Matters

Plan Ahead
Park Avenue Synagogue works with other New York synagogues and communal organizations on What Matters: Caring Conversations About End of Life. Through facilitated conversations, this program begins the process of understanding Advance Care Planning and considers important questions. This process helps you clarify your goals and wishes for future healthcare and other choices should you be unable to communicate your wishes due to a sudden accident or illness.
Schedule in initial conversation: Contact Rabbi Neil Zuckerman at 212-369-2600, x121.

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is a challenge beyond measure. Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic woven into the fabric of our lives, the grief and sorrow can be compounded. VNSNY Hospice and Plaza Jewish Community Chapel have partnered to create a group open to anyone who has lost a loved one during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a space for those who are grieving and need support during this uniquely difficult time.
Co-facilitated by a hospice spiritual-care counselor and a social worker, this group meets for eight sessions via Zoom. For additional information and to register, please contact Amber Keinan either via email or by phone (646-477-2641).
