Bikur Cholim – Visits to the Ill

"The Holy One visited the sick…so shall you visit the sick." [B.T. Sotah 14a]

Do you know someone ill, elderly or homebound who would benefit from compassionate personal attention? The Park Avenue Synagogue Bikur Cholim Caring Committee —in loving memory of Dr. Albert and Phyllis L. Cornell— reaches out to those in need through telephone calls, visits and holiday packages. The Caring Committee is comprised of trained volunteers who are committed t0 providing hands-on support and companionship to these valued members of our congregation. All interactions are confidential.

If you would like to be contacted by one of our caring, dedicated volunteers, or know someone who might benefit from the committee's attention, please contact Rabbi Cosgrove's office at 212-369-2600, x120.

UJA-Federation’s Mental Health GPS (Guiding Parents through Services) helps direct families toward the best course of comprehensive mental health services including community programs, public and private health practitioners, mentoring and school-based programs, and hospital-based support. A family resource specialist will personally guide you and your family on the right path, and serve as an advocate and supportive voice during your family’s journey through the mental-health system and related support services.
