Shabbat Dinner Series

The Shabbat Dinner Series provides congregants with an opportunity to join together in prayer, share a meal as a community and learn from noted scholars and rabbis on topics of social, intellectual and spiritual interest. The musical Kabbalat Shabbat service begins at 6:15 pm, followed by dinner at approximately 7:30 pm.

Registration is required by the Monday before the dinner. Space is limited. Cost: $35/members; $45/general.

She is the author of There Shall Be No Needy: Pursuing Social Justice through Jewish Law and Tradition and Where Justice Dwells: A Hands-On Guide to Doing Social Justice in Your Jewish Community. Rabbi Jacobs has been named to the Forward’s list of 50 influential American Jews (2006, 2008 and 2011), to The Jewish Week’s first list of “36 under 36” (2008), and to Newsweek’s list of the 50 Most Influential Rabbis in America (2009, 2010 and 2011). She lives in New York with her husband, Guy Austrian, and their daughter Lior.

Peter Beinart is the author of The Icarus Syndrome: A History of American Hubris and The Good Fight: Why Liberals—And Only Liberals—Can Win the War on Terror and Make America Great Again. A former editor of The New Republic, he is an associate professor of journalism and political science at the City University of New York, a senior fellow at the New America Foundation, and the senior political writer for The Daily Beast. He lives with his family in New York City.
